DUI Checks, Seat Belt Checks … Corona Virus Checks?

Written by Gregory Monte.

I can kind of understand why there might be DUI and Seat Belt Checks – although I have written why I don’t agree with them in earlier posts:

But Corona Virus Checks?

What’s Next, Mandatory Coronavirus Checkpoints?

Here is a how a couple moving from MI to FL explained their feelings about this new reality:

“it was intimidating seeing all the guards at first, but it also made them feel safe.”

There is a quote by Benjamin Franklin that sums up my opinion about the current reaction of the government and many US citizens to this Corona Virus crisis:

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Although I understand that he said this in the context of a tax issue, it still rings true for me today given the current situation.

And it greatly worries me…

The Basic Speeding Ticket Defense

This is a 9 page review of the most basic way to beat a speeding ticket – even if you actually were speeding. This particular strategy will almost always work, but it does depend on one aspect of the circumstances surrounding your ticket.  For the strategy to be effective, there must be an issue with the speed limit signs, themselves. It’s all about the need of states/localities to comply with their “Obedience to Traffic Control Devices” statutes.

Applying the Traffic Ticket Defense Method to Challenge a Citation.

This is a seven-page, detailed explanation of my three-step method for challenging any traffic ticket. I use the “Driving at a Safe Speed” statute from Pennsylvania to illustrate this method, but it can be applied to any other statute that you might be cited for in the vehicle code.

In addition, no matter what state you live in, the procedure is the same: you need to understand the statute you allegedly violated, look for technicalities in that statute and (most importantly) find case law to support/reveal those technicalities.

The Pennsylvania Stop Sign Defense Strategy in a Nutshell.

This is a one-page, eight-point summary of the strategy I discovered while researching ways of beating unfair stop sign tickets. It is specifically geared to Pennsylvania but can also be applied to most other states.

  1. Here, in WArshington, the governor, Jay inSLEEZE, has already issued a proclamation for martial law. Sadly, just because they don’t see tanks in the streets, people don’t know how scary that is.

    inSLEEZE proclamation is vague. It says we cannot leave our home, except if working an essential business. It said NOTHING about shopping for necessities, doctors visits and so on.

    In short, the constitution and laws for The State of Washington have been suspended:

    – Probable cause for stops has been expanded to include mere presence.

    – Searches no longer require warrants;

    – The executive branch is the legislative branch too, so absolute tyranny is in place;

    – . . . .

    Merely that people do not see tanks in the streets does not mean the proclamation referencing chapters 38.08 and 38.52 are invalid.

    Per inSLEEZ’s proclamation, you can be stopped and your papers demanded in the course of heading to or from grocery shopping or a doctor’s or dentist’s visit, or for traveling to your “approved” work.
